Station to Station on "The Canadian" • DVD • 115 mins

In 1986 Adolf Hungrywolf and his son Okran filmed a journey across Canada from Vancouver to Toronto on The Canadian; even at that date, this was one of the very few traditional North American streamliners still in operation, and whilst it was no longer operated by Canadian Pacific, the train still followed the traditional northern CP route via Banff. Filmed from aboard the trains, up in the dome cars, from the locomotive cabs, and from down on the ground, this is a unique historical record of train travel de-luxe, and much of Canada’s railway system, in the nineteen eighties.

Viewers should note that this film was shot on first-generation video equipment so that, even with remastering for this DVD, the picture quality is not quite up to the standards produced from more modern cameras.
