50 ans d'autorails sure les lignes secondaires 1948-1998

£23.90

A 'bookazine' from the French railway magazine 'ferrovissime' on the autorails, or raibuses used by the SNCF, in fact starting prewar, and how they revolutionised services on rural branch lines, and secondary main lines from 1948 onwards.

Initially there were a remarkable number of design produced and used, many of which gave a bright dash of colour and the exotic on the SNCF. There was a parallel rise on French narrow gauge lines, but this is not covered in this work.

Add on (literally) the various trailers created from aged passenger coaches, covered here, and you have wonderful sights to see and enjoy.
